Practitioner Profile:

If you are thinking about starting acupuncture treatment, the most important thing for you to know is that I love being an acupuncturist. I was called to this work many years ago, and I find it to be immensely rewarding.

I received my B.A. in psychology from the University of California at Davis in 1970. After that, I explored nature in Oregon (working for the U.S Forest Service) and then urban life, t’ai chi and meditation in New York City (working in management). I first experienced acupuncture as a patient, and I was so moved by the changes in me that I soon enrolled in acupuncture school.

Regarding my qualifications, “M.Ac.”means that I received a Master of Acupuncture degree from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, now called Tai Sophia Institute, in 1989. “L.Ac.”means that the State of Maryland licenses me to practice acupuncture. “Dipl.Ac.”means that I passed the national acupuncture examination and keep that certification current with continuing education each year.
